Large paws with sharp claws brushed along the ground just miles away from the river. Simple amber eyes staring blindly ahead as the large reptilian wandered towards the waters edge. Life as a loner was much simpler than the one she had when her little boy rider was alive. She didn't have to worry about following every command nor did she have to stay by her riders side. Though there also was a down side being a loner after all the name did mean Kimi was alone probably for life. The young thirty year old dragon sighed a dark sigh as she stopped and looked around.
Crack!
The large white reptile swung her heard around towards the source of the sound, a small twig that had broken under the weight of a squirrel. Annoyed the white dragon lashed her long, rudder like tail around. How could a small creature be so loud? Then she pushed the thought away and turned her gentle gaze back to the rivers edge. A blurred image seemed to flush upon the waters surface but Kimi all ready knew this was a figment of her imagination. Ever since the death of her rider, his soft and rounded face haunted her.
Silently she forced the blood images away as she pushed a pebble into the water with her tail. Lifelessly she watched with emotion filled eyes as the water rippled so far out that the haunting image of her riders face was gone. Then slowly she lowered her head and lapped up the water in great gulps. Small beads of water dripped off her chin as she lifted her muzzle from the water. A soft gentle breeze ruffled the surface as the young loner let her thoughts take over her senses.
Darkness.
Everything was black as she had slept, her night had been dreamless for hours. Flickering lights started dancing around her. Finally a dream had awoken.
Nightmare.
Screaming.
Her eyes shot open in a flash when she smelt burning hay. Michael, her rider was screaming and a strong scent of fear littered the air. Rushing to her feet she bolted towards the fire stricken barn. The boys parents were in town. A mob of rough looking teenage boys beating up her rider.
Anger.
Rage coursed through her veins as she charged the attackers but it was indeed to late. Michael's body fell limp to the ground as his abdomen was cut open. Scarlet blood pooled from his body as the life slowly faded from his eyes.
Attack.
Revenge.
Attacking she lashed out with her tail and sharp claws. Snapping at anyone who got to close. Arrows plucked into the air and landed inches away. A cold blue fire charred her throat as she attacked the helpless humans.
Flee.
She had fled leaving several of her rider's attackers dead. Quickly Kimi shoot her head to clear away the images once again. Slowly she allowed herself to look to the sky, a place where she spent most of her time while traveling through the land avoiding humans at all cost. Maybe one day if she ever got the courage she may return to the humans way of life and take on another rider but as for now she was forever a loner.

Cold water churned against the stones that poked out from the river's unsteady surface. Uneven skins of water slushed and slammed out of the main body onto its earthen neighbor. On the side, trying to avoid that rather unwanted squishy feeling of sitting in mud was a great silver dragon. Well maybe not so great since he was still but merely a youngster compared to some of his dragon companions. Though that might also change since he had yet to meet many dragons older than himself... wait... had he even met a dragon older than he himself? His head began to protest at the dragon's hard thinking so he merely shook his head.
On his claws rested his unusual rider. Human she may be but a very odd looking creature for her species. Her unburned skin had been resting under the direct rays of sunlight as her brighter silvery hair outshone even her dragon's more greyer scales. Even in the sunlight Enki still looked like a marble stature with some serious detail. She patted his chest with a small hand.
You thinking too hard again? Her voice held a bit of amusement; yet her face was bland due to boredom. Enki merely laughed, or at least thats what it would sound like to another dragon. To Eiry it sounded more like some wierd mix between a grumble, a growl, and a small roar. I will never understand how thats a laugh... She said with feigned serious tone. Her dragon partner merely laughed once more, And I will never understand why you are so amusing. With that, Eiry could feel the dragon paw she rested on turning ever so gently so that she rested in Enki's 'palm'. He brought his nose down and rubbed ever so gently against her cheek. Thanks to his head being pretty much the same size as the girl's whole body, he was extra careful of how strongly he nuzzled against her.
Alright you giant, back off before you end up wanting to smother me. Eiry grinned and tried pushing his head backward. Thankfully he obliged. How rare that was indeed. He let out yet another of his hearty dragon 'laughs'. Eiry returned his cheerfulness with her own bright smile. Oh how warm their bond felt when they were enjoying themselves together. But that was short lived when Enki stopped abruptly. His silver head aimed off in some random direction. Eiry watched his fin-mane flutter, a sign that he was listening. She could see his nose flare as he took in a scent he could've sworn he'd smelt before. The question was, where had he smelt it before?
Whats up? Eiry asked as she climbed off her dragon's palm. Her figure stood straight as she carried herself with pride. Enki's nose flared a few more times before he looked down to her. Dragon. He said simpily. Eiry eyed Enki, Dangerous? He paused. I don't know, I can't tell from this length. Female I do know; young definitely.
Younger than you?
He nodded. Eiry put her hand to her chin, There are quite a few young dragons about. Maybe she's a hatchling from the nursery? Enki did shifted his wings in a circle, something equivalent to a shrug. Shall I find out?
Eiry nodded, Go ahead. I'll head back to the capital just in case if that dragon dislikes humans. Besides... She smiled, I doubt I'd be very useful in a conversation between dragons. Enki tilted his head, I could translate. Eiry shook her head, No, its best that I stay out of matters by dragons. I'd get involved if the dragoness had a rider... Does she? Enki lifted his snout higher, flaring his nostrils again before lowering his head. He merely shook his head. Eiry went to her dragon's side and rubbed his thickly scaled shoulder, See? If you need more reasons; another would be that she would most likely be more comfartable around another dragon than a dragon and a human. He gave her pleading eyes and she merely turned away; waliking in the direction of the capital with a single hand in the air. Have fun~. She called.
Enki watched her go until she was well out of sight. A sadness like a pet having to watch its master leave chilled him but he thought to himself, might as well get this over with. The faster the better! With that Enki pushed himself to his feet, large stone-colored claws scraping deep against the soft soil. He opened his wings to their full length for a nice stretch; their length and width outmatched his body by a few meters. In just moments Enki pounded them downward until his body jumped off the ground and into the sky.
He soared idly for a few moments before turning toward the direction of the familiar yet unkown scent. His body shone like a white statue against the sun.
It didn't take long for Enki to find the source of the scent. He would've called her an interuption between him and his rider's relaxation time but he knew that would just make him feel bitter so he tried to think of it differently. A hatchling who was far from the nursery was a good start.
Slowly the dragon decended, watching the smaller form of a dragon grow larger as he got closer. White scales shone the female's heritage and her small stature showed her age. He tried to land softly and a bit subtley as to not scare her. But of course with his large body and wings that was a rather clumsy attempt... Enki landed with a harder thud then he meant, white-pupil eyes stared at the dragoness. Enjoying the day so far? Enki said, his face blank of emotion. He wouldn't show anything until he knew exactly whether or not this female was indeed from the nursery or if she was a wild. Yet he did try to sound friendly in his words while looking the part; folding his wings close to his body.

Dragon.
Human.
One scent she could handle and that was of her own kind no matter where the dragon came from. The other she could not and from what she could tell both were near by. More than likely it was a rider and their dragon. Silently the young female took another massive gulp of the water before she heard something land near her. In one robotic like movement, Kimi's head snapped from the waters surface. Her white scaled skin caught a reflection from the light as she shifted her gaze to look at her "visitor" as his words hit her.
Enjoying the day so far?
How could she passably answer that question without sounding to stand-offish? Fine I suppose though you shouldn't sneak up on others like that. Specially not when you smell like them She stated in a rather mono-tone way. In a slow and non-threatening way the lone dragon turn around to face the gray and rather polite dragon. Hopefully he wouldn't take to much offense towards her comment towards him smelling like a rider. Then slowly she lowered her blue gaze to study the ground as she tediously shifted her weight to her right side. Are you enjoying your day as well?
What had brought this older dragon over here anyways? Was it just her presence that he despised or did he think she was a threat? Silently she looked back at the new dragon. She did not even know his name but it probably would not matter any ways. Since when did dragons need to recognize each other by name. That would make them more human than they should ever be specially since they had better sense than the soft bodied creatures they were born and raised to protect. Blurred images flickered through her mind again but she quickly pushed them away. Why must she be cursed with the never ending nightmare of her boys murder? Feeling rather comfortable around this nursery born dragon she settled down and tucked her wings against her side. Certainly she would not be flying any time soon or at least she hoped not.
( Sorry this is rather sort I'm still getting used to role playing dragons. )

(Its all good.)
Enki might've guessed he landed softer than he originally thought for how on-guard this dragoness seemed. Maybe it was also his imagination or even perhaps she may have just been paranoid. The answer didn't seem to matter all that much once she had spoken. Though the dragon did wonder if she was perhaps shy like a blue dragoness he met just only earlier before. Of course it didn't look to be that way when she spoke.
The silver brute lowered his head in apology, I'm sorry if I suprised you. Figuring it would be better to say suprise than scared to one of the proud silvers. He knew that most didn't like to others to think them cowards or something similar, even him. She didn't seem like one of the aggressive ones however, which was very much a good thing. Even if his rider wasn't around, the dragon knew that he wouldn't want an overly aggressive dragon near her.
He pushed the thought aside. But a part of her reply, or greeting whichever, he noted the emphasis she put on the 'them'. She undoubtly was talking about humans, for he was with no one else earlier and only his rider's scent would linger against his dragon scent. But he did not ask why he could hear the scorn against her mono-tone sound. He didn't need to.
He gave her a smile, I am, though I do believe it might rain soon. Perhaps in a day or so. He may have said that but there was barely a cloud in the sky thick or large enough to even hide a dragon. But why he said that, maybe it was idle talk, just a bit of dragon instinct gossip. Something to ease the air.
He could tell that she was wondering why he was here. Maybe it was just his gut or perhaps some hidden give-away. If you don't me asking, what brings you out so far into the wood? Or perhaps so close to the city? He rubbed his chin with a wing, I myself find this a lovely evening to be out in. He said casually. He wondered if he should introduce himself, well there couldn't be that much harm in it. I'm Enki. He added.
