How long had it been since Eiry had actually walked around town. It had been so long, well at least it seemed like it to her (its only been around five years), that the young guardian could've sworn the town had changed drastically. Well things tend to look like they've changed when you usually only see them from above. It was also probably the reason that she felt so winded, after having to go up and down and up and down the seemingly endless stairs of the capital's city-district.
I think... I need... more excercise... She said, barely able to keep herself from panting. She breathed hard but not yet at a pant. Her head was low, allowing her silver hair to cover her face and her body arched so that her hands rested against her bent knees. She could the gazes of the townsfolk on her. It wasn't really surprising given how odd she must've looked to them. Eiry raised her head, looking about to see where she had wandered off to. She looked around for a few seconds before dropping her head back down but this time in defeat. One could almost see the imaginary depression cloud hanging over her head. Where am I... Eiry groaned in her mind. It was one thing to get lost, it was another to get lost in a place that she probably had flown over so many times before... Well there's her punishment for too much curiousity... It was times like these she wished Enki were there but unfortunately he was off on buisness and Eiry would not disturb him.

Kantain came walking out into the open. He looked up in confusion 'Where am I?' he looked around and saw Eiry, "Hi there...."He said. He looked around for any sign of where they were, his hair swayed in the smooth breeze. He thought to himself 'what do we do know i bet neither of usvknow the way back'. He looked back to Eiry. 'Does she even know my name?' he asked himself. Getting lost was no problem to him but he had better get out soon, "you wouldn't happen to know the way out would you?" He asked Eiry
'In all places I find myself in the town where there is no food' his stomach growl in hunger and he clenched it in silence. It growled again and let his head slowly go limp. He was starving like never before

Eiry was still in her cloud of depression when a voice sounded from near her. She looked up to see to see who had greeted her. A guy who was quite a bit taller than her... She pushed that observation aside and looked at his face. Nope she didn't know him, at least she didn't think she did. Hello... She greeted back; wondering if he was familiar with area... Though he didn't very much sound like it. She watched him for a moment before straightening herself out, holding her hair down against the small breeze. She opened her mouth to ask if he knew where they were or even better, how to get out but she was beat to the punch-line.
Eiry let out a small sigh, Unfortunately, I do not... I was hoping you did. She wanted to hang her head low again but decided against it. At least she wasn't the only one lost in this maze of a town; though that probably wasn't a good thing. It didn't help that there were very many denizens walking around... In fact Eiry didn't think she'd seen one since she entered the neighborhood... Oh bad signs... She shrugged the thought away.
I'm Eiry by the way. What would be your name? She asked, figuring it be better to introduce then be strangers for the whole way. After all she was probably going to stick with him, lost or not, until they got out. Then she heard his stomach. She couldn't hold in the small chuckle as she reached inside of her uniform-pocket and pulled out a paper-wrapped bundle. Here. She smiled and handed it to him. Inside the bundle was bread left over from her lunch and what was better was that it was still whole. She never did have a very big appetite.

Kantain's head snapped up as he heard the reply, he marveled at the sight of the bread. "my names Kantain"he replied, he reached out for the bread and said a soft thank you and slowly took the bread. he unwrapped the paper silently.... it was still whole, he broke off a piece and put it in his mouth. "so were both lost in this place... hmm" he said, his head hung loosely as he looked up at the sky the sun none the less was sitting dead in the middle, "no possible way of finding east or west....." he said, he sighed once again. he remembered the bread and his bear of a stomach and began re-eating the bread.
'how do i get lost like this?' he thought, there's no way to find a way out unless we find a sign or some way of leaving. some hunter he was, couldn't even navigate his way out of the simple town of Carogia. he sighed at the thought and sat down to finish his bread. he looked to Eiry and wondered she looked like a guardian, one of those protectors of the city, he admired them their battle tactics he had been taught when he was going to become one, but he liked the life of a tracker one who gets praised for his work and food.... mmmm delicious food.
Then he realized he was rubbing his stomach, how emmbarassing

Eiry smiled in return to Kantain's thanks. He must've be starving for how focused his eyes were on the loaf. She returned her attention to the area around them, she could've sworn she had saw a sign but she could only guess that the heat was getting to her head. She let out a mental sigh, Its times like these I have to wonder about the architechs... Eiry followed Kantain's gaze upward toward the sun. She was no tracker but even she knew which way to go with the sun and was dissapointed by the bright ball's great timing. Well I think its noon... Eiry grumbled, oh this was hopeless. This was sad... she was the guardian of the very city she got so very easily lost in... very sad indeed.
She rubbed her eyes, trying to readjust from looking up toward the sun. Well we should probably see if we can find a resident or even a sign. Eiry offered, blinking a few times to get the blotches in her sight from her eyes. When she regained her original sight she looked over to Kantain. A small chuckle came from the silver haired girl as she watched Kantain rub his stomach. He must've really liked food.

Once Kantain finished the bread he looked up at Eiry "you're right .... although it does seem awful quiet around here im sure well find a sign somewhere" he said. He looked around there looked to be only two ways out left and right from where he was standing. " Hold on, maybe i can climb up on top a roof and get somewhat of a veiw of the houses" he said determining his odds of getting yelled at by the owner of the house. He looked around just to make sure no one was watching and began to wall hop on the long spaces in between the smooth walls of the houses. As he was hopping off the walls he faltered at the top and came crashin into the roof of the taller house. Giving a disgruntled aproval at his work he clenched the tile on the roof to hoist himself up "ouch, that didnt go over as well as i wanted it to" he said with a weird look on his face. He looked down at Eiry, 'Wow' he thought.

Eiry followed her fellow lost companion's gaze at their only exits. Somehow it reminded her of those crossroad stories that she heard about when back when she was smack-dab in the middle of town when there was people. She couldn't remember who it was that spoke about but she definitely remembered that they were drunk. Eiry was about to go forward and check out both pathways when Kantain offered to scout from the rooftops. Alright but be careful. The guardian said, then with a little smile, I'm sure the owners wouldn't mind anyway. It doesn't seem like they're home. She looked at the houses he had begun to climb, no sign of life except a cat in the window.
Eiry practically jumped as she watched him hop up the walls. He was obviously use to doing such things although Eiry's heart nearly stopped when he faltered. You okay? She called up to him. She tilted her a little with a hand over her face so she could look up without being partially blinded by the untimely sun. What do you see? She couldn't see if face but rather a shadow of his body; her eyes never seemed to like the sunlight.

Yeah im okay...... i don't see much though.... he said with a sigh. He peered off into the distance of the town amd saw little but the rows and grids of houses. He saw a trickle of water up over the distance. I think I see a fountain, maybe theres a sign out there.he said hope in his voice. He looked back down at Eiry I'm comming back down so you might want to move he explained.
He turned around hi back facing the street, he took a big breath. Jumping up he threw his hands and his feet backwards, his hair flowing. Mid air he turned around and landed on his feet incorrectly and toppled backwards in the direction of Eiry.

Eiry's hope sunk a little when she heard the first half of the news. she brought her head back down to level. Her hand that shaded her eyes went to a loose strand of hair. She stroked the soft silver, thinking of whether or not she should climb up there as well to see if he might have missed something. That thought didn't last long when she heard the news of there being a fountain. It was true they could find a sign somewhere around there.
A happy smile lit up her face to know there was something that could lead them to the way out of this maze. However she was too busy rejoicing to hear Kantain's words of warning. At first she wondered what the thump was she heard and just as she was able to focus on what happen she could feel a force pretty much fall on her. Eiry instinctively dodged the moment she felt something touch her, and roll side-ways out of the way before coming back to her feet. It was moment before she realized what she did. She turned to her companion, Oh god I'm sorry, are you okay? Even though she asked that it probably wouldn't have been a very good thing if she hadn't 'dodged'.

Kantain flew past Eiry as she dodged his horable work of a land and. Landed right on top of a trash bin placed outside someone's house. He struggled to get out of the tras bin mentaly yes, phisicaly however, no. he said sarcasticly. He sat there in a daze, his leg was a little sore however. He whipped his head to get his hair out of his face. He sighed as he tried to get out , either he was stuck in it, or it was stuck on him.
He snickered a little and sat there in his awkward position. His blue eyes quavering at the thought and embarrasment of having himself gotten his butt stuck in a bin full of trash. He looked around and said I'm surprised that no one has shown up yet.... its awfully quiet still.

Eiry stared wide eyed as Kantain tumbled right along into a neighborhood trash can. She rushed over with one of those worried looks on her face but it faded with his answer to one of relief. Well at least you sound better than you look. She watched him try and get himself out but to no prevail. Eiry held out her hand to help him out. She wasn't even sure if it was him stuck to the can of vice-versa.
Though Eiry did notice his look of embarassment, she couldn't but smile at the odd position he'd gotten himself into. It was times like these she was glad for the strict training that gave her discipline, else she'd be rolling on the floor, laughing like there was no tommarow. She did however nod in agreement. You'd think someone would come out wondering what all the noise was about.

Kantain grabbed her hand and attemped to stand up yet was stuck in ahunched position. Yeah your right. he said pulling the trash bin off himself. Standing up correctly he rubbed the back of his head, his hair flashing in the sun. Yeah thanks for the help... he said thankfully, he turned in the direction of the fountain. well thats the way to the fountain or whatever it was. he said pointing and looking to Eiry. He sat there thinking of whether or not that was the right way to go.
Then he remembered that he was still holding Eiry's hand, he left it there shyly.

Eiry gave Kantain a quick smile before saying Your welcome. She watched the sun flash off his hair in a bit of amusement; what would it have looked like if she had normally colored hair? Perhaps her dragon wouldn't want to smother her so much or even better, the townsfolk wouldn't give her odd looks. She was greatful that Kantain didn't seem to mind her appearence. She turned her attention to the direction he pointed to and nodded in understanding. Well then, onward we go. She looked back to him. She prayed that they didn't take a wrong turn on the way... After all she knew she was lost because of wrong turns.
It took her a moment to notice her fellow 'lost' companion's sudden shy look. At least that what she thought it was. She could only tilt her head and shrug before continuing on. She went forward not even noticing she whether or not she still held his hand.

Kantain being draggend by Eiry's hand quickly stepped up to walk up next to her looking to her, he asked, Were you born with your hair color? . He looked back in the direction of the fountain and saw a turn that hopefully led to it. He pointed out the turn to Eiry maybe thats the turn leading to the fountain. he said thankfully. The bread was starting to wear off, his stomach growled yet again. He clenched it with hunger, when we find or way out want to grab something to eat? I'll pay. he asked intent on filling his stomach. He turned and flashed a smile.

Eiry chuckled a little as Kantain had to step a bit quicker to match her pace. Despite her height, the guardian was a very fast walker. That might've been another thing that drained her of her energy. Well, at least she wasn't 'panting' now. Her body was actually feeling lighter with the hope of finding an exit. When she heard Kantain ask what she had heard quite a few times before, Eiry merely smiled and said; Yes and to my dragon's great pleasure. She added a bit of a truthful joke to her reply. Her silver absolutly loved her 'similar' looks to him.
Eiry looked to where her companion had pointed and smiled, a happy relief flowed through her body. Even if it might have been too early to celebrate Eiry was going to celebrate anyway, it added strength into her. Her little bliss moment was interrupted by a loud... growl? That was no dragon but the little girl did think that at first. Oh that would've been embarrasing if she had jumped or something. She let out another chuckle, this one more of whew sounding one. That would be good. She agreed.

'yes!' he thought quietly to himself. they reached the corner and Kantain stopped to check to make sure the fountain was really there he saw a spurt of mist that gave him a jolt of excitement and pointed down the alley way That could be the fountain! he exclaimed joyfully. he looked back to Eiry with excitement.

When they had reached the corner, Eiry's heart soared with delight. A very light sound of water spraying reached the girl's ears; making her look around for the source of the sound. As she searched she saw Kantain point his finger toward what looked like light spray. The guardian's eyes glowed. Finally there was something that wasn't building or stairs! Eiry nodded with a happy look lighting her face, Something that isn't a building. She practically hummed it and began to go forward, tugging gently on the other's hand that she still hadn't even realized she had been holding. Lets hurry, I'll bet there has to be a sign or even a person around there. Then she added a bit more humorously, There might even be a food stand or shop.

Kantain caught up to Eiry as she had somewhat dragged him. That would be lovely! he said, his stomach growling some more, he laughed at the sound of it. he couldn't wait to sit down with Eiry and have some food... mmm food, 'why is it that im always thinking about my stomach?' he asked himself quietly. with a smile he continued walking with Eiry, a happiness projected on both their faces. I don't know about you but my legs are sore and most my body is in pain he said smiling sarcastically.

Eiry giggled with at Kantain's demanding stomach; it was loud enough for her to hear so she could only guess that he must have been starving. Lets hurry then before your stomach is mistook for a dragon. She practically dragged him to an open square, well more like a giant circle. A fountain sat in the center, a dragon statue spit a thick breath of water into the air while four corresponding mini-mountains exploded thinner streams of water. The bowl that contained the water was far out enough that it look barely wet.
But Eiry's attentioned turned toward the buildings that surrounded it. From what she could see they had appeared from an opening between two buildings, as three other paths led away from between the neighboring alleys. Alas there was no sign, but there was indeed a shop where a middle-age lady stood with a look of boredom. Despite the area's almost abandoned looks, the place was clean. No leaves or large piles of dirt could be seen against the pattern of stone.
Right, go ahead and sit down I'll see if that lady sells food and if she can give us directions. With that Eiry finally let go of his hand, still unaware that she had even been holding it in the first place. She raced off toward the lady's stand. It was a wooden stand with a large red overhang. Her counter was empty but boxes lined around her. As Eiry drew closer the lady shot up with an excited look in her eye.
"Yes deary what can I do for you?" Eiry gave her nod of greeting, I was wondering if you could give me some directions out of this place. We're a little lost. She said, Also do you sell food here? The woman smiled, "Ah are you not from here?" She began to open a crate, suprisingly a breath of cold air came from the box. How'd she keep it cold? Eiry decided not to ask.
"How many would you like?" She asked before adding, "If you go out that way, you'll want to follow the path all the way until you find yourself in an open area; from there you should hear the main market. There will be an opening on your right, follow that and it will lead into the main market area. From there you can go north toward the High Lord's castle or south toward the main gate." Eiry eyed the produce, it looked like apples and other fruits; then returned her attention to the lady, Ah thank you ma'am. She however did not feel like she should answer the lady's initial question of if she was from around there or not...
Eiry shook her head of the thought and turned toward Kantain, How much fruit do you want?

Kantain walked over to Eiry and the woman selling the fruit, Just two he said after examining them. he pulled the small coin-pouch off his belt and began counting money for the fruit. He did say he was buying after all. he looked to Eiry, How much are you getting? he asked. The coins rattling in his hand he pulled a strand of hair out of his face.

The young guardian was just about to pull out her purse, (well more like a mini-satchel), before she remembered Kantain said he would pay. She managed to put her hand back at her side when he came up next to her. She cleared her throat, pretending or at least trying to seem like she was thinking hard. She pondered for a moment, I'll take one of the largest one you've got. She asked the lady. The fruit wasn't completely for her, most of it would go to her dragon for the dragon had a strange taste for fruits. What an odd beast he is. Thanks. She smiled to Kantain. Then added with a little laughter, Enki loves fruit. Such a strange one he is.

Kantain pulled a few extra coins from his pouch in addition to Eiry's fruit. That's perfectly fine with me. he said smiling at her, Will this, suffice? he asked the woman selling the fruit. he put the money on the table and moved his hand toward the fruit preparing to grab it if the money was acceptable. Then of course his hand reached back and grabbed his monster of a stomach.

Eiry thanked Kantain with a thankful smile. She felt a little guilty about making him pay for everything but she would stay loyal to his word. As the lady pulled out the three fruits, she packed them into a bag and set them on the stand counter before looking at the coins the young man put on the stand. A smile lit the lady's features as she nodded and took the coins. Eiry in turn took the bag in one hand and moved toward the fountain.. Lets rest and eat. She suggested, she herself felt tired enough from all the walking and seeing how hungry he was just about summed it to 'break time' in her head.
Once she made it to the fountain, she placed herself on the edge. It was mostly dry but Eiry couldn't really care whether or not she got wet. She pulled out her larger fruit, a pineapple really before handing the bag to Kantain. Maybe if he was still hungry she would give him some of her pineapple in thanks for paying.

Kantain nodded his head and followed Eiry to the fountain and sat down along with her. taking the bag and nodding a soft thanks, he pulled the two fruit from the bag another pineapple and mango. he pulled a small pocket knife from his belt carefully skinning both the mango and the pineapple. Putting the skin in the bag and washing his hands he handed the pocket knife to Eiry, Here, just in case you don't have one on you. he said. his hands wet from the fountain.

For a moment the guardian had to wonder how she was going to open her fruit. Of course she could just have Enki poke it open with a claw but when that would be, she didn't know. Now a small tinge of hunger made itself clear to her. Thankfully there was no growl, just the feeling when the body says 'I'm hungry feed me!' Not suprising considering how long it had been since the last time she ate... When was the last time she ate?
A little glimmer came from the girl's eyes when her companion had offered her his knife. Maybe it was a bit sad that she, a guardian, one who was suppose to protect the city from danger; didn't have a weapon on her let alone a measly pocket knife. But she didn't think of that, Eiry merely accepted the knife with a happy smile and proceded to cut open the fruit. Now she knew she had seen the cooks cut fruit like this before... how did they do it... (This is what she gets for eating mainly dried meats and bread.) She knew she should have watched Kantain... Oh well, might as well just try to open it. Worse case scenerio she loses a finger. She went to cut open the fruit and in the process earned a pricked finger where the girl merely said, Ow... and stuck the poked finger in her mouth to stop the not so light bleeding.

Here, he said washing the juice of his mango juice covered hand in the fountains. he softly took the knife from Eiry and rapidly skinned and cut the juicy cool pine apple. Sorry i cant do anything for that finger, i left all my supplies on my dragon who is sleeping lazily some where. he said a smile on his face washing is hands and pocket knife he slid it onto his belt. at once he began chewing on the pit of his mango and small chunks of his pineapple not quite staring but staring at Eiry.

The silver-haired guardian stared at Kantain's 'handy' work with pure awe. How skillful... And yet she, one who was trained with sword and bow, couldn't even slice open the fruit. Somehow that detail didn't seem like it was going to bode well in the future. Ah, don't worry about it, its only a poke. And thanks for that. She took her finger out from her mouth, examining the little red hole. Yup it looked fine. She welcomed back the fruit, eating little bits at a time. Such a dainty eater she was.
Yet during the somewhat small silence, Eiry could feel someone staring at her. At first her eyes went to the lady who had sold them their fruit but she was messing with her boxes. Next her eyes went up, wondering if her silver-colored partner had come back and was now staring at her just to see if she'd notice him. Nope. That left Kantain, and when she looked over she thought she saw an occasional glance. A hand went to her face, was there something on her face. Didn't seem like it. Is something wrong? She could help but ask now.

Wha- oh no just thinking he said after finishing his last small piece of pineapple and washing his hands off. why is fruit so messy? he asked in awe at the orange and yellow swirls of juice in the clear water. he turned his head to Eiry and pulled a small strand of hair out of in front of his face. his shirt was a little wet from the fountains splashes and mist. he looked toward the way that the lady had pointed.

Eiry gave him a curious look but decided to just let it pass and contiuned to nibble on her fruit. What a gleeful look she has. She had barely gotten finished with her small pieces when she saw her companion had already finished his. It was amazing in a way, he'd definitely be fine if he had to travel places quickly. Hm, thats a good question. She responed; pulling out a wrap from her side bag and tieing the fruit up. The rest could go to Enki when she sees him again. But really, what a strange dragon she has.
Eiry turned toward her companion, she was going to say something but ended up forgetting at the sight of him. Now how did that happen, and what more why did her face feel hot? She touched a hand to her cheek, it felt warm. A blush? That was odd... But when he looked toward what would be the exit Eiry hastily got up. Shall we go? Little did she know that her back and shoulders were wet from the mist and her clothes were quite thin...

Sure, he said looking to Eiry he saw that her shoulders were wet but he did not notice that her back was wet because of how she was facing him. he held out his hand in turn to start walking with her. he looked back too the old woman who was still fiddling about with her boxes then he looked back to Eiry, and finally noticed that she was blushing and he smiled gently.
