Appearance:
With height and lean muscles, Cato is more swift than anything else. Standing at 6 feet tall, exactly, he towers over the others. His hair is short, not a buzz-cut, but not hanging down over his forehead and eyes like some. Light brown with bits of darker brown is the color of his hair, which is also quite soft. Moving down to his eyes, we see that Catos irises are a dark, burnt sienna brown. Flecked with gold, they sparkle when he laughs, adding to his handsome appearance. With a ruggedly handsome look he's a good clash with the finer featured Ebony. With sparkling white teeth it's only his scar across one cheek that marrs his looks, and even then it adds an air of 'tough-guy' to him. He holds himself proudly, like a warrior at the ready, waiting to hop onto his dragon and go into battle. His tanned, light brown skin that nearly matches his mostly pale-toned hair. Cato is often running, racing the other boys around town, his short hair spiking out behind his head, long legs and strong arms pumping to go faster. A witty smile that teases will play across his features. Cato often wears a short-sleeved shirt, ranging in all the colors, and shorts that go to his knees, showing off his strong calves. The shorts are mostly jean shorts or beige. He'll only wear fancy clothes to things he deems worthy of his white tuxedo with the black tie. Back to the finishing touches, Cato has big, but not clumsy, hands with long, thin fingers with nails that are obviously nibbled on. His regular smile is his signature. He has a smile that just makes everyone else smile. It lights up the room and can lift spirits. He's said that the first thing he'll do when he finally meets the right dragon, and girl, is give them his best grin. With a slight crookedness in the famous grin, it makes him look cocky, but also makes him look kind. He is.

Personality:
Cato is all about being nice. He's not perfectly sweet, his temper is fiery and turns him into a sort of anti-Cato, but even then he'll always feel bad afterwards. Almost buzzing with a sort of warm aura, it's no wonder he's popular. But unlike some popular people, Cato is absolutely nice-as-crap to everyone he meets. With a witty side that keeps everyone roaring with laughter. While he's loyal and kind, even if he's got a girlfriend he'll flirt with every girl he meets. But it's that type of flirting between close friends, and it isn't so heavy that it makes you think he'll cheat on his girl. Cato is very protective of his friends and is often stopping fights, though of course he'll beat up those who hurt his friends. He's very fair and just, quick minded, too, and skilled at problem solving. Often wandering near the entrance to the dragons keep, he knows he's one of the oldest of those who don't have a dragon yet. It preys on him, like a leech, so whenever he can he goes to the Keep, trying to find the dragon that will have that glowing tail he sometimes dreams about. Something not many know about him is that he comes from a poor family. He's training to become a Guardian so he can earn enough money to support his parents. Being an only child, he's used to helping his parents out around the house, so getting an income to share with them is more normal for him than another teen. The fact is, nobody ever guesses he's not in the least related to royalty because he's so nice, noble, and smart. Cato often keeps his origins to himself, for fear he'll lose his friends if they knew he was poor. Of course what he doesn't know is that nobody cares one way or another with a guy as nice as him. He has one, big flaw in his personality. And for Cato, that's that slight naïvete that comes with being so dang nice. If he ever finds out he's been lied to, bang! His awful temper comes out, and after that, his guilt.

History:
Born in an unusual fashion, Cato caused a riot at a competition because his mother went into labor right as it was about to start. She couldn't be moved, so the adorable baby that was born, was born with an immense silvery dragon staring straight at him.
He was a good child, the prodigal 'perfect son' so to speak, and Cato was always helping his mom and dad around the house. At five years old, though, he tried to see where the dragons were, he wanted one so badly. This led to a huge search around the city, looking for that lost litle boy that was friends with everyone. Eventually they tracked little Cato to the Dragons Keep, where he was sitting in a corner, crying. He was very upset, because none of the dragons had tails glowing white. This lead to everyone laughing, because he was so cute and sad, and so he was taken home devastated because 'none of them had white tails'.
The next big thing that happened was when he was 8, and he happened upon the silver dragon that had watched his birth. It was very old, apparently, and had retired along with his Rider. The dragons name was Silver, or at least that's what most called him. His real name is very difficult to pronounce. Anyhow, Silver recognized Cato, mostly from his mother, and communicated through his master to the young boy who was tall for his age.
'I watched as you were born. You were born quietly, not a sound from you yet you were wide awake. I'd never before seen a humans birth. I thank you for showing me the only thing I had not yet seen. Your mother allowed me to see you then, and I'm glad I can see you once more, to thank you.'
The very next week they learned Silver had died of old age the day after he had thanked Cato.
At ten years old, Cato had the mostbheartbreaking thing happen. Like during those two days at five years old, no dragons tail glowed white. He tried to be strong, but as soon as he got home the poor boy burst into tears.

When he was 13, Cato got introduced to the world of dating. He had a crush on this girl named Cari, who said yes when he asked her out. They seemed like the perfect couple, and everyone joked about whether or not they'd bought their wedding cake yet. But their relationship plummeted when Cato learned Cari was cheating on him with a guy he'd been friends with for years. And so, with that, two relationships dissapeared. What made Cato even more mad was that Cari was so emotionless about it. He vowed never to talk to her, and hasn't.
At 15, Cato informed his parents he wanted to become a guardian. It would be a great way to learn a few things, and get paid money that would go to food, and maybe a better home for the trio. His mother tried to argue, tried to say being a Guardian was too dangerous, but his father thought it was a great idea.
'Why bottle up his potential and desire to help? This is about the age most boys begin their training anyways. I say if he wants to both help us and the city, let the boy be a guardian! Marieta, he's 15 now, he's not the same boy who we found crying in the Dragons Keep. He doesn't have a dragon yet, let's not keep anything else he's old enough for from him. Something he has control over should be his. So let him train.'
Catos mother reluctantly agreed it was a good idea, and she agreed to let him try out. It was the first thing tat really went right for him, in Catos mind one of his only true achievements when he was accepted to train as a Guardian.
A year later he's just broken up with another girlfriend. This time it was because they just didn't... click. Now he has a small crush on Ebony. Cato visits the Keep as often as posible, hopes high he will finally get his long waited-for enormous reptile.
