Appearance
At only 5'4, Fanae is not someone who stands out in a crowd. Her frame matches her height, being rather petite and slim. The womanly curves are there, they're just not overly exaggerated like others. Though they are modest they are not without their charms. A tapered waist leads to gently rounded hips and well shaped legs. Likewise, her breasts aren't exactly spilling out of her shirt but more a pleasant handful, being a C cup on a good day.
If one had to mark her looks down as anything they would probably say she was cute. An outstanding beauty or a vision that is brighter than the sun, she is not.
With her bloodline originating from more northern climes her and her family have a more creamy complexion. Her skin is fair and her coloring is dark. The mass of her hair is a deep, almost black brown with a few naturally lighter highlights. Generally she wears it in a high tail or a a messy bun at the nape of her neck. As for her eyes? They're an unremarkable shade of gray, sort of like soapy water that has sat for too long.
Speaking of soap, she does try and stay clean. Though more often than not she will have smudges of this or that on her face. Mostly it tends to be black powder or other such chemicals used to make fireworks. She also tends not to dress girly, going more for the practicality of pants and a simple shirt. Skirts only get in the way in her opinion and dresses, what are those?
Personality
Naive | Pyromaniac | Creative | Stubborn | Optimistic | Dreamer | Adrenaline Junkie
Of her three siblings, Fanae was the most sheltered. Her parents did their best to keep her away from the darker and more malicious aspects of life. As such she has grown up naive of the cruelties of the world. For starters she believes that all people are inherently good. Evil is something that is only seen in fairy tales. In her opinion people only do bad things when they're pushed to desperation or they absolutely have to. Then again she has never had the misfortune to really view anything truly horrible.
Even the war is viewed as one big misunderstanding in her books.
This is also why the young woman is so trusting. In fact she is trusting to the point of stupidity. An individual who looks completely vile will be given the benefit of the doubt and have her confidence. One day she will be bound to trust the wrong person and end up getting hurt. Until then she will attempt to make friends with just about anything or anyone.
To say the least she is not a judgmental individual. Her father thinks that this is due to her inherent artistic creativity. No matter what it is she will find some sort of beauty in it. This is also why she is so good at making fireworks. When it comes to this particular type of Pyrotechnics one could say that she is at a very proficient level.
Though that isn't to say she hasn't gotten naughty with her experiments, much to Avalonia's dismay. A couple of times she had made veritable bombs of color just for the sake of seeing something explode. It is one of her more glaring faults, her obsession with explosions that is. Both of her parents had tried to curb this habit. Yet it persists, especially with the encouragement of her elder brother Voltaire.
But when not playing mad scientist and blowing up prototype fireworks, Fanae can usually be found training for the next competition. Her and Ava are a common sight in the skies of their home town. Twisting, diving, twirling, and many other assorted acrobatics are their favorites. It's the rush that gets to her, the joy and freedom of the experience.
And when all is said and done, she likes to relax in the wilds. Her favorite spots are sunny hillocks where she can just watch the clouds roll by. During these times is when she usually comes up with some of her more interesting ideas. She also happens to use this time to work on another hobby of hers.
Drawing is another expression of her creativity. Though not exactly at a master level her sketches are decent. It's color that she really excels in, breathing adequate life into her creations with bright hues. Blues, reds, and greens are some of her favorites with Dragons being the centerpieces of her focus. Her ideals about them are very romanticized and filled with great adventures of epic justice.
Here is where things get somewhat choppy with her. Once she gets something in her head, Fanae is often very stubborn about changing her view on things. Undeniable evidence has to be provided for her to make her even budge an inch. Just telling her something is different isn't good enough for her and she will stand her ground, especially when it comes to her more personal belief. In a way she's much like a Bull dragon when they dig their heels in, unmovable and mulish.
History
Fanae was the last child of three for a somewhat well off couple. They were makers of fireworks and owned a small business that had been in the family for quite a few generations. Her elder brothers were Voltaire and Noralis, whom was the eldest.
Her childhood was rather uneventful except that her parents did their best to keep her away from the ugliness of the world. She grew up surrounded by love, happiness, and was regaled by stories from her traveling brother Voltaire. He was the suave salesman, she was the fireworks genius, and Noralis was the heir who was hell bent on learning the business.
Through the years she also got herself into some mischief. Once, she blew the top right off of a workshop with one of her 'color bombs'. Oh, it was a grand affair all right with all sorts of rainbow hues. It also nearly burned the entire place down. This was one of the very few times that her parents ever really got strict with her. She was banned from the shop for a month, only being allowed in after she whined and cajoled until she got her way.
But soon after this little mishap Fanae was told by her parents that she had the opportunity to go to the local dragon nursery. A couple of eggs had recently hatched and she was of age to be a viable candidate. Esctatic and nearly bursting out of her skin with the excitement of it all, she went.
Six others were with her when she entered the Nursery. Only four dragons were available for those hopeful to bond. A Green, Purple, Silver, and Gold tussled about. But they stopped when the children entered. Immediately, the other kids started to interact with the hatchlings. One boy bonded with the Purple right off the bat. The Purple was caressed by two girls before it finally bonded.
Fanae herself had cautiously approached the Silver and had touched it. But its tail had glowed black and she backed off quickly. Tripping over her own feet she practically fell into the Golds lap. The little female had stuck her nose in the girls face, one of Fanaes hands reaching up to touch her. Her tail glowed bright white and they have been together ever since.
Since then the two of them have become one of their towns prime competitors.
